What's the difference between buying a new Hyundai or a used?

I'm looking for a car, and I'm interested in the Hyundai Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, and Santa Fe. But I was told to buy a Hyundai new, don't get it used. What difference does it make?|||One is new, the other used. How much money do you want to spend, how important is a new car to you, only you can decide that one.|||When you buy a Hyundai used, be very CAREFUL! many used hyundai's were once part of a rental fleet or commercial fleet where countless different people drove the car, and abused it... just go to youtube, and search "rental car abuse" and you will see what i mean... if you buy a used hyundai, check the carfax to make sure it wasn't a rental car before... rental car values are lower because they are less reliable in general|||Depends...greatly...

A new vehicle will cost you about 20% of the vehicle's value paid to new-vehicle depreciation.

A 2-3 yr old creampuff will have most of the depreciation paid by the original owner and will likely still have low-enuf miles to get a Hyundai Factory, Bumper to Bumper Warranty, not powertrain/drivetrain, not third-party

Buying a Hyundai is tricky bc the older ones, duno the time frame, were atrocious, while the newer models have been ranking very hi w/ Consumer Reports; read them.

FYI, dont trust Carfax very much. Use em w/ a grain or ten of salt. They settled a class action suit recently for not disclosing what they promised. Use other similar services. The Dept of Justice has a title-tracking service, I think free.|||For several years now Hyundai has been building excellent, dependable cars that last a long time. If you find a used one that hasn't been beat up you can save a lot over a new one.

I have an 06 tiburon GT V6 that I bought in 08 and it has been a perfectly reliable car and a ton of fun to drive.|||the residual value on them is not good so you could probably get a used one fo 1/2 the price of new. but don worry about the warranty. it is a LIMITED warranty which means u only get 10,000 miles a year. so if u ggo over that in the first year they will not cover anything! dont buy hyundai|||You have the chance to keep up with maintaining it (oil change, etc.). Also, you will have a long warranty. However, it is more expensive, so it all depends on if you think it is worth it or not.|||Hyundai is usally a first car for new drivers and are beat up and not maintained.. no matter how much the dealer cleans them up to LOOK pretty most used ones have been abused one way or another..|||Newer Hyundai models are significantly than older ones. Hyundai 10 year 100K miles warranty only applies to new buyers. For used it drops to 5 year 50K (I think).|||The same difference between marrying a virgin and marrying an escort. No one wants sloppy seconds...or thirds.
